House of B’s Glutathione Face Film asks a little more of you than opening a sheet mask and putting it on. First, spread the supplied ampoule over your face. Then apply the clear hydrogel film and leave it on for 1–3 hours.

If the clear film makes you think of Biodance, our guide to its changing hydrogel sheet explains why that visual change is a separate question from this two-stage format.

The appeal is a complete masking session with its own skincare underneath. I would consider it for an evening when the treatment is part of relaxing, rather than something to squeeze in before bed. If you mainly want the quickest way to moisturise, the extra stage and longer wear are harder to justify.

A Korean brand with an audience at home

House of B is a Korean skincare brand that centres its identity on care before an occasion: the evening before, or the hours before you want your skin to look its best. Its range includes face and neck films, so the unusual name reflects a broader interest in this treatment format.

It has already found an audience in Korea. As of 6 October 2026, the Korean Olive Young listing had more than 9,000 reviews across its Glutathione and PDRN options. That gives the format some local context beyond an unfamiliar brand turning up in your feed.

The ampoule is cream-like, and the film is a separate sheet

“Ampoule” might suggest a little bottle of watery serum. Here, the first step is cream-like: you spread it over your face before applying the mask. Knowing that makes the two-part pouch much less puzzling.

A conventional sheet mask arrives soaked in its treatment liquid. House of B separates the skincare from the covering sheet, supplying both in the same pack. The first compartment contains the Synergy Ampoule Mask; the second contains the ready-made hydrogel film.

Its clear appearance can resemble a peel-off mask in photographs, but you are not painting on a liquid and waiting for it to dry into a removable layer. You apply the supplied sheet over the first step. There is no mixing to do or separate serum to choose for underneath.

Where does it fit in your usual routine?

Start after cleansing, using the two supplied stages as the treatment. You do not need to complete a toner, serum and cream routine first. Add moisturiser afterwards if your skin still feels dry.

The order is:

  1. Cleanse your face.
  2. Spread the supplied Step 1 ampoule evenly over it.
  3. Remove the backing and gently position the Step 2 film around the eyes, nose and mouth.
  4. Remove it after the instructed 1–3 hours.
  5. Add moisturiser if your skin still needs it.

Think of the pack as a treatment with its own first skincare step, rather than a finishing layer for every bottle in the bathroom. A toner or another serum is not compulsory just because you normally use one.

House of B also offers overnight wear. I would start with the standard evening window rather than assume a longer session gives a better result. Remove the film sooner if it becomes uncomfortable.

What do the headline ingredients actually do?

Glycerin helps with hydration. It binds water and helps keep skin moisturised, making it relevant when skin feels dry or tight. This is the most straightforward reason to consider a hydration-focused mask.

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 used for uneven-looking skin tone. One of its roles is helping reduce the transfer of pigment into surrounding skin cells. That makes it useful in tone-focused skincare, although it works on a different timetable from the immediate feel of moisturised skin.

Glutathione is an antioxidant used in brightening skincare. It helps counter oxidation and has a role in pigment-related research. That explains its place in the formula; it is not a reason to expect one mask to erase dark marks.

Tone care works through regular use over time, so I would keep that goal in the everyday skincare routine. Here, the immediate reason to choose the pack is the moisturising ampoule and the longer hydrogel session; niacinamide and glutathione are supporting ingredients rather than a promise to erase marks in one evening.

For ongoing uneven tone, I would put consistent leave-on care ahead of occasional masking. With the Face Film, hydration and the treatment format are the more convincing starting points.

Is the extra effort worthwhile?

There is an extra application step, and the 1–3-hour wear time needs room in your evening. It is less convenient than applying moisturiser and being finished. Even if you spend most of that time reading or watching something, you still need to want a mask on your face for that long.

The useful part is that House of B supplies the first treatment and covering film together. You do not need to decide which serum to pair with the mask, and you can keep the rest of the session simple. For someone who enjoys a longer home-care ritual, that is a coherent format: cleanse, apply the supplied treatment, put on the film and settle in.

My choice would depend on what I wanted from that evening. For a planned pampering session before an occasion, I can see the appeal. For a tired night when all I want is to relieve dryness and go to sleep, I would reach for moisturiser. The mask’s extra steps earn their place through the experience of a dedicated treatment, rather than through a promise of superior results.

That is also how I would judge its value. If the ritual itself appeals, the two-part format gives you something specific to choose. If you would rather skip the masking time, the glutathione name alone would not persuade me to add it.

Who would I choose it for?

What you want My choice Why
A longer, deliberate masking session Consider the Face Film The supplied cream-like first step and film form a self-contained treatment.
Quick daily help with dryness Start with moisturiser It addresses that routine need without a separate long masking session.
Ongoing care for uneven tone Prioritise consistent leave-on care Repeated use matters more than expecting a one-off brightening mask to do everything.
Skincare without fragrance Choose another formula Both supplied stages list fragrance.

House of B makes sense for someone who likes turning skincare into a proper evening activity. The supplied first step gives the film a clear place in that routine.

Choose it because you want that treatment format and have time to enjoy it. For quick hydration or lasting tone care alone, I would spend on the daily product first.
