Aestura Atobarrier365 Cream is a useful alternative to consider alongside Dr.Jart+ Ceramidin when you want a barrier-focused moisturiser. Torriden DIVE IN Soothing Cream belongs beside Tatcha’s Water Cream when the aim is a lighter moisturiser. Ma:nyo Pure Cleansing Oil and The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser offer two ways to handle the makeup-removal step.
If Aestura is the direction you prefer, our Atobarrier365 Cream-versus-Lotion comparison explains the next format choice.
Those three decisions often get bundled into “Korean alternatives”. I think the useful comparison starts with what you want to replace. Otherwise, an attractive swap can quietly become an extra step and another purchase.
These are alternatives by purpose, rather than identical formulas or guaranteed dupes. The useful question is what changes when one replaces the other.
At a glance: what actually changes?
| Original product | Korean alternative considered | Does it replace the same step? |
|---|---|---|
| Dr.Jart+ Ceramidin Skin Barrier Moisturizing Cream | Aestura Atobarrier365 Cream | Yes: moisturiser, with different formulas |
| Tatcha The Water Cream | Torriden DIVE IN Soothing Cream | Yes: lightweight moisturiser, with a different formula |
| The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser | Ma:nyo Pure Cleansing Oil | Similar cleansing job; balm format to liquid oil |
A barrier moisturiser usually combines jobs. Humectants such as glycerin draw water into the outer skin; emollients soften it; a more protective layer slows water loss. Ceramides are lipids used to support that moisture barrier. Panthenol, a B5-related ingredient, adds moisture support. A hyaluronic-acid serum mainly helps hold water, so it can sit underneath a cream without doing the same job as the cream.
Dr.Jart+ is itself a Korean skincare brand. The first pair is a choice within K-beauty, rather than a Korean copy of a Western original.

Ceramidin and Aestura: the meaningful cream comparison
Dr.Jart+ positions Ceramidin around five ceramides, panthenol and glycerin. The 50 ml product linked below lists ceramides NP, NG, NS, AS and AP, alongside shea butter and cholesterol.
Aestura is Amorepacific's Korean derma-skincare brand. Its international Atobarrier365 Cream list includes glycerin, squalane, ceramide NP, cholesterol and fatty acids. The brand's distinctive feature is visible ceramide capsules that melt as you spread the cream.
Counting five ceramides in one list and one named ceramide in the other does not reveal the amounts, delivery or finished-product performance. It is a poor shortcut to declaring a winner.
There is a more concrete difference for someone avoiding aromatic plant oils. The linked Ceramidin formula lists geranium, bergamot and sage oils; the international Aestura Cream list does not list those oils. That is a specific formulation distinction, rather than a promise that either product suits every sensitive face.
If avoiding geranium, bergamot and sage oils were part of my brief, I would favour the checked Aestura formula. If I already liked Ceramidin and those ingredients were comfortable for me, I would keep it rather than switch for the ceramide count. Aestura is a meaningful alternative because it changes that ingredient profile while retaining the moisturiser job.

Tatcha Water Cream and Torriden DIVE IN Soothing Cream
My own cream preference changes with the season. In summer I lean towards a lighter soothing cream so my face does not feel greasy; in winter I am more likely to want a richer one. Cream gives me a longer-lasting sense of moisture, but I dislike a sticky finish. That is a useful way to approach these alternatives: choose the feel you want to live with, rather than treating a richer or lighter formula as the universal winner.
Tatcha’s Water Cream is a lightweight moisturiser. Torriden is a Korean brand whose DIVE IN range focuses on hydration; its Soothing Cream is the relevant format here. The DIVE IN serum is a separate product.
The creams approach the same everyday job through different formulas. Tatcha lists dimethicone, glycerin and propanediol. Torriden combines glycerin and hyaluronic-acid ingredients with panthenol, allantoin and emollients. The water-binding ingredients help hydrate; the emollients help soften skin, so the Torriden cream does more than provide a thin serum layer.
I would put Torriden on the shortlist if I wanted a hydration-led gel cream for a routine where another rich layer feels excessive. If I already enjoyed Tatcha’s finish, the presence of similar moisturising ingredients would not be a reason on its own to switch. This is a plausible replacement for the moisturiser step, rather than a claim that the two jars feel identical or deliver identical results.
For dry skin that still feels uncomfortable after a light cream, I would look back towards the barrier-cream pair above. “Lightweight” is useful when that is the feel you want; it is not a prize every moisturiser needs to win. If you want an extra liquid hydration step instead, the Torriden serum-versus-snail-essence comparison answers that different question.
Squalane Cleanser to ma:nyo: similar job, different handling
The Ordinary calls Squalane Cleanser an oil-free cleansing balm. It contains squalane and lipophilic esters, and the directions ask you to warm it between your hands to an oil-like consistency before massaging onto dry skin and rinsing.
Ma:nyo’s Pure Soybean Cleansing Oil is a liquid oil cleanser. Soybean oil appears first in that list. It is a liquid oil cleanser that turns milky when water is added, then rinses away.
I would choose ma:nyo for a ready-to-spread liquid oil, and The Ordinary if I preferred warming a balm in my hands first. Both address the removal step. That makes this a useful choice between two ways of handling the same cleansing step. Follow either product’s rinse-off directions; neither format makes a second cleanse compulsory.
The shopping examples cover Aestura Atobarrier365 Cream 80 ml set and ma:nyo Pure Cleansing Oil 200 ml. The Torriden DIVE IN Serum 50 ml with 10 multi pads is an optional hydration layer, not the Soothing Cream compared with Tatcha.
A good alternative preserves the job you need or makes a deliberate change you understand. Choose that first; the nationality and shared hero ingredient can come afterwards.
